I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly; you’re doing something.” ~Neil Gaiman
It’s January! This month we are “taking chances, making mistakes, and getting messy” (Mrs. Frizzle – Magic School Bus). Mistakes teach us what doesn’t work and encourages us to create new ways of thinking and doing, most importantly, mistakes help us grow!
In addition to this way of thinking, we hope to compliment this notion by testing our skills and embracing every mistake and hiccup along the way. We hope to engage our students in lots of stem activities and challenges, both individual and group, while discussing confidence and perseverance as we complete such tasks.
Furthermore, we love riddles, jokes, pranks, and trickery. We would love to plan for lots of opportunities for our students to be creative through some fun creative writing activities where we can live out our mischievous ways!
