March 2019
School Age #1
“For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way-
Good health, good luck, and
Happiness, for today and every day.”
This month we wish you the many wonderful things that an Irish blessing will bring, happiness, luck, joy and laughter. We are eager to learn about the history behind St. Patrick’s Day and the meaning of the rare four leaf clover. We plan to create special activities to entice the children into taking chances and testing their luck as well as discussing ways in which we can look at our lives as fortunate and “lucky.”
Lately, the children have been curious about foreign languages, how to draw like artists, and have also been engrossed in taking care of one another and “babies” in our family dramatic play centre. We hope to add to such interest this month by learning about various cultures, family dynamics -traditions, in additions to providing resources and exercises for the children to learn step by step process of how to draw.
Looking ahead, if your child(ren) will require care between March 11 – 15th, (this year’s March Break), please sign up on the sheet provided in our classroom. Thank you!
Just a reminder that Friday, March 22nd is a PD day. Please let us know of your child care needs for this day.

School Age #2
Welcome March and Hello Spring. We have missed you!
In this wonderful month of March, the School age #2 room will be creating Spring-like pictures in hopes to welcome the warmer weather. The children will be able to create their own idea of what a Spring- like day would look like.
For St. Patrick’s Day, we will also be creating a special craft for our bulletin board. We will talk about some traditions the children might have for St. Patrick’s Day and what the significance of them might mean to some families. Also, for St. Patrick’s Day, we will be planning some fun Minute-to-Win-It games.
Our class will be spending as much time as possible outdoors to welcome the warmer weather. We will plan to have lots of fun outside.
We plan on making tambourines to celebrate Mardi Gras and having our own Mardi Gras party. We will make masks and hats!
Looking ahead, if your child(ren) will require care between March 11 – 15th, (this year’s March Break), please sign up on the sheet provided in our classroom. Thank you!
