This month the children’s focus has been on taking care of others. We set up a Doctor Office and Veterinarian Clinic for the children to take care of one another, the babies, or plush animals. We discussed all that doctor’s do and what each tool they use it for. We then shifted our focus to a Dental Office and talked about “sugar bugs” and the importance of eating healthy foods and brushing our teeth .
The children have also been talking about mythical creatures. Mostly mermaids and unicorns, so we decided to spend the week reciting and re-enacting other nursery rhymes and fairy-tale stories. We spent lots of time all week trying to build the tallest beanstalk like Jack did with his magical beans.
With the warmer weather on the horizon, we ask that all parents check their children’s backpacks or cubbies to make sure their change of clothes co-insides with the season. We are outside for an hour in the morning and again in the afternoon if you could please send a hat as well .
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads. We hope you enjoy your day.
Just a reminder Story Book Early Learning Centre will be closed Friday, July 1st for Canada Day .
