Preschool Room #3

Happy New Year! Time flies when you’re having fun. We hope you enjoyed your holidays with your loved ones. The preschoolers worked so hard on your cards and gifts and were so proud to share them with their families. December was a jolly and holiday themed month where we created lots of special memories. One of our favourite things to do each morning was find our elf on the shelf which we named Buddy. They also looked forward to sharing their outfits and accessories during our holiday themed dress up week. Check out our January calendar for more special days.

Our dramatic play centre was changed from a bakery into Santa’s Workshop. This included toys to fix with tools and a work bench, ice blocks to build with, cookies and treats for Santa, dress up materials, and more. The preschoolers loved dressing up as elves, reindeer, and Santa. They even lined up and pretended to be on a sleigh filling stockings with toys around the classroom while their other friends pretended to sleep and wake up to presents.

This month we plan to continue to observe the changes the cold weather brings. Every time it snowed the preschoolers got so excited to watch outside the window and shared their experiences of building snowmen, making snow angels, and more. We hope to have the opportunity to do those activities in our play yard.

As it begins to snow and continues to get colder, please ensure your child has the appropriate labeled change of clothes and winter gear. We have been promoting self-help skills and encouraging the children to dress themselves and attempt their zippers, so they are able to get dressed on their own for kindergarten.

We look forward to what the year 2025 brings for Preschool 3!
