We are happy to report that our March Break themes were definitely a hit amongst the students that chose to join us for the week!
We’re hoping that we’ve seen the last of the snow, ice, and wind for a very long while, as winter seemed to have lasted forever! However, we ARE expecting to have some rainy days this Spring as we’ve learned that “April showers bring May flowers”. Our kindergarten crew will be tracking the weather again this month to see just how much rain it takes to produce bright colourful flowers in our gardens.
Our focus for this month will be Spring. April is hopefully the month of warmer air and new growth. We can’t believe how the children have grown since September. We are looking forward to hopscotch, blowing bubbles, and making chalk drawings on the sidewalk.
Easter excitement will surely happen as the month moves ahead. We’ll be showing off our creative side as we’ve got wreaths to make, eggs to decorate, and cookie cutter paintings to do. A brand new “bunny hop” will be added to circle time fun, as well as their favourite Easter egg hiding game, and we’ve got plenty of holiday books to incorporate into our story times!
As always, in the month of April (the 22nd to be exact), we celebrate Earth Day! We’ll be talking a lot about the three R’s (reduce, reuse, and recycle) and learning how to make our planet a healthier/happier place to live.
Just a reminder we will be closed Friday, April 18th and Monday, April 21st for the Easter holidays!
