It’s hard to believe that our summer fun has come to an end! Here in the Kindergarten Room, we certainly packed a lot of action into the past couple of months!

An absolute favourite was diving deep into the ocean (darkened gym) to experience what it was like to be a bioluminescent sea creature. Our glow sticks helped us to see each other and fun games were played. A real eye-opener was entering the trenches, or the deepest, darkest level of the ocean (equipment room), where we couldn’t see a thing. That is, until we “turned on our glow” and discovered just how important a little bit of light can be.

The JK/SK crew also enjoyed several picnic lunches, the giant fire hose “sprinkler”, and riding the trucks at the fire station.

Our class spent a week caring for and learning about the wild animals that they had adopted and named. We put our homemade binoculars to the test, with a trip around the school and into some other classrooms for our very own jungle safari. To finish up our final week together, we celebrated those who are moving on with a Kindergarten Graduation March, had a p.j. and stuffy day, and watched as a real live butterfly emerged from its chrysalis, in our very own classroom. And no “end of the summer” party would be complete without a super fun Hawaiian luau with fruit kabobs, hula lessons, and limbo contests!

Our aim in Kindergarten has always been to “BE KIND and HAVE FUN”, and we were quite successful in doing just that!

As another month arrives, we are looking forward to the new school year, and our SK crew can’t wait to show our brand new JK friends just what being in Kindergarten is all about!

Just a reminder Friday September 20th is a P.D day, please let us know if your child/children will require care that day.
