It’s that time of year where we say goodbye to the school year and many of our friends as they depart for the summer. We wrapped up the month of June with Kindergarten graduations, doing all of our favourite activities and making lots of memories. And now we prepare for a fun filled and busy month of July!

We will be out on Monday, July 1st for the holiday, but will be full swing ahead after that!

We have several weekly themes planned, with many, many special activities to fill our days. There will be community outings, dress up days, lots of dramatic play centres, crafts, and make-our-own treat days! Watch the classroom bulletin board for additional “special lunch” days as well!

According to our “Everyday is a Holiday” calendar, some of those exciting days include:

  • July 10 – Teddy Bear’s Picnic
  • July 15 – Give Something Away Day (We are going to make summer art pieces to surprise the residents at Iler Lodge).
  • July 23 – Vanilla Ice Cream Day (If we can talk Mr. Ian, our amazing chef, into a special treat for afternoon snack!  ).

We do ask that you keep our summer event calendar handy, as your child will be asked to bring a bathing suit and towel on special water days and running shoes for days that we are out and about in the community.

Here in the kindergarten room, our aim is to create a summer program that is packed with fun activities and will keep your child and their friends talking about for weeks to come!
