The children have been loving the summer weather. We spend the majority of our day outside playing on the slide, riding bikes, and going for walks. While outside we try and keep cool by playing at the water table and playing with sand under the shade awning. The babies love these sensory experiences.
We are focused on self help skills during meal times. Encouraging the infants to scoop with their spoons and helping them guide the spoon to their mouths. We also have been working on using their vocabulary or baby sign language to express their needs during this time.
Just a reminder we are closed August 5th for the Civic Holiday and September 2nd for Labour Day. Enjoy.
Infant 1
This month we have been focused on talking about foods. Setting up picnics with pretend food and displaying yummy treats on our “sight board.” We have been singing songs like “Apples and Bananas” and “Sticky Bubble Gum” which the children love.
Infant 2
The Infant 2 crew love making artwork to decorate their classroom. Footprint popsicles, lemonade, and handprint watermelon are just a few summer treats to name a few. All the children are now walking, so playing outdoors has been a great time to explore our surroundings and nature.
