Infant Room #1 News

We hope that everyone had a great Canada Day and enjoyed their long weekend with family and friends.

We are so excited that summer is finally here, and while the next two months will go by fast, we are really looking forward to what summer has to offer. The babies have been having so much fun engaging in water play inside the classroom and outside on the playground. We hope to continue this interest throughout the beautiful summer days. On days that it is too hot to go outside, we will be engaging in indoor gross motor time, using our slide, trampoline, ball pit, and much more.

This past month, the babies have also been really interested in social interactions with their peers. Our older infants have been pointing at their friends and working on saying their names. To promote this interest, we put a photo of each of the babies on our sight board to further encourage name/face recognition. The infants love looking at themselves and their friends on the board.

Just a reminder that we will be closed Monday, August 5th for the Civic Holiday. Also, please let us know if your child will be out for any summer vacations if you haven’t done so already, as this helps us with staffing. Thank you!

Infant Room #2 News

It’s hard to believe it’s summer already. We’ve had a lot of fun in the last month with music. Familiar songs, instruments, and musical toys have been a big hit with the babies. They have also really enjoyed our movement rings. This seems to be a favourite activity. The babies love to dance to the music while waving their rings in the air.

In the past week, the babies have enjoyed toys with wheels. They have been driving cars both big and small around the room and we have been singing and reading about transportation. We will continue exploring this interest and see where it brings us next!

Please inform us of any time off you would like to schedule for summer vacation. This helps us plan for staffing. Also, please bring in a change of clothes or two as we will be doing water play activities outside on warm days.

Just a reminder we will be closed for the Civic Holiday on Monday, August 5th. We hope you all have a great long weekend.
