We’re not quite sure how we’ve already jumped into the month of June, but we sure are trying to pack in as much as we can into the last few weeks of school!
Lately, it seems that our Kindergarten crew is interested in all things “insects”! As the days get warmer, we’ve been noticing more & more little critters crawling around our play yard. We’ve rescued a big black beetle that somehow got trapped inside of the school and had makeshift “parties” for the potato bugs that we find outside in the mornings. We often play our “Bug Out” domino game at circle, as well as the “caterpillar pass” listening activity.
Our outdoor space is also looking a little more colourful these days! The JK/SKs love to create their masterpieces with sidewalk chalk. At any given time, you’ll find our sidewalks adorned with rainbows, flowers, rocket ships, and anything else that their imaginations dream up. And after a little rainfall, they get to start all over again!
We certainly have had some rainy days, but that doesn’t disappoint our Kindergarten group. We take advantage of our extra indoor time with their absolute favourite group activities . . . Freeze Dance and The Floor Is Lava (carpet circle) game!
According to our “Holiday Everyday” calendar, we’ve got a few fun things to celebrate this month. On Tuesday, June 7th, our after school group will enjoy a special treat for “National Chocolate Ice Cream Day”. June 15th is a day for “Smile Power” where we’ll encourage our friends & family to turn their frowns upside down. And we’ll be rockin’ our shades on the 27th for National Sunglasses Day!
A final P.A. Day will take place on Friday, June 10th. Please let us know if your child will require care. Thanks!
Our Kindergarten crew has certainly accomplished a lot in the past ten months together, and we can hardly believe that the school year is coming to a close. We look forward to a fun-filled summer program, full of special activities, crafts, theme days, and water fun. We hope that you will join us on our upcoming exciting adventures! And to those that are out for the summer months, we certainly look forward to having you back in September!
The full day S.B.E.L.C. Kindergarten program will begin on Wednesday, June 29th. We will require your child’s summer care schedules (days needed) as soon as possible. Thank you! Just a reminder that we will closed on Friday July 1st for Canada Day. Enjoy your day.
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s and Grandpa’s. We hope you enjoy your day.
