We’ve seen the sun, but haven’t really felt the warmth, from its rays quite yet. The groundhog predicted an early Spring, and our Kindergarten crew have been anxiously awaiting its arrival!
Although, there were few opportunities to play in the snow this winter, we have all agreed that these cold temperatures can go!
As we enter a new month, the question arises . . . “Will March come in like a lion or a lamb? “. Should we be expecting cold & windy weather, or will there be some calm and sunny days ahead? We have our calendar out and decide as a group each day, whether to assign a lion or a lamb to each square. Stay tuned, and we’ll let you know what we observe!
Our Kindergarten class continues to concentrate on the “feelings of others, as well as those of our own”. Several games have been introduced to assist the Kindergarten crew with recognizing the impact of their actions on those around them. An instant favourite were the “emoji” cards, each with a different feeling displayed on the front. The students take turns trying to guess the card, based solely on the expressions shown by their classmates. Our envelope is full of hearts (each with a question about kind things that they’ve done, or a simple action to make their friends smile). Both games create lots of participation & giggles during circle time.
Our Kindergarten group was sure to celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day, surprising friends & family with kind & helpful gestures.
